Karim Nejaim

As General Manager, Strategy and Planning Karim is responsible for both the technical and transformation strategy for Optus Networks. The Networks team of 2500 people provide the National Telecommunications infrastructure for Optus to generate $8 Billion in annual revenues.

Karim possesses a rare combination of technical aptitude and genuine emotional intelligence which positions him well for this extremely challenging role. He is sought after as a mentor within Optus and also by his many friends and colleagues outside the organisation.

Prior to his current role, Karim spent nine years in a variety of roles within Optus that ranged from Product Development to Engineering and Operations. Before joining Optus he developed significant experience in a broad range of IT-related roles including project management and software development.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Flinders University of South Australia, and has completed management studies at AGSM, MGSM and Australian Institute of Management.
